The Labyrinth
by truthtramp
i got lost in a labyrinth for the millionth time
it’s walls were low and the grass had grown over
so i thought;
how hard could it be to get found?
after a long meander
i found myself
standing at the center
and realized that getting found
wasn’t much different than
getting lost
but at least now
i know where i am
but how do i get out?
now. i thought and i
stood for so long
i thought i’d
have a sit
and i’ll tell you
i’ve been sitting for some time
and you wouldn’t believe it but
roots have descended from my spine
and roses have begun to sprout
from the crown of my head on down
moss and grasses
lichen even!
have begun a mysterious process
from my insides out
so now i suppose
i’ll sit for a while
i’ll sit and i’ll wait
for the world to evolve
and i hear the mountains call
the deserts aching
howl
swirling chaos
from the middle of the storm
but in the quiet center
it’s all just dust and stars
and i hope that
it’s true
i hope
that all roads lead back
to the truth
i hope
that all roads
lead back
to
me and you.
must have been dumb
